1. Preliminary Audition
Submit an Application Form along with Audio Tape, CD or DVD of two
contrasting works from different periods:
* Baroque
* Classic
* Romantic
* 20th Century
Copy of birth certificate (passport), two glossy passport size photographs (suitable
for publicity purposes) must be include with non-refundable application fee of $80.
Applications submitted without the required information will be disqualified.
2. Deadline: Application Form and all four items must be complete and mailed no
later than May 1, 2008!
3. Competition: Audition finalists will be notified by mail before May 16, 2008.
Third Annual Connecticut International Young Artist Competition will be open to the
public. It will take place at the First Congregational Church of Stamford, Connecticut.
Contestants must perform from memory two works from Preliminary
Audition. Contestants should bring their own accompanists or CIYA Competition
will provide an accompanist for a fee of $70 per hour.
4. Age Groups: Your age as of May 1, 2008 will determine your group.
Group 1: age up to 13
Group 2: age 14-18
5. Winners will be announce after the competition. All decisions made by jury will
be final and not subject to any appeal. All winners must be present at the Awards
Ceremony and Winners Concert in order to receive their prizes. 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Prize Winners will perform at the Winners Concert on June 8, 2008.
